What Studio keeps, why, and who helps us run it.

Who we are

Studio helps photographers publish a portfolio. It is provided by Moshi Inc., the company that runs img.pro, at 4023 Kennett Pike #50475, Wilmington, DE 19807, United States. This page covers Studio at studio.img.pro, the photographers' sites it hosts and the domains they connect to it. Your img.pro account is covered by img.pro's own Privacy Policy, which also explains your rights, the legal bases for using your data, and international transfers. Those parts apply to Studio too.

What Studio stores

  • Your img.pro account. The email address and account id img.pro shares with Studio when you sign in.
  • Your photographs and the text you add. Your images are stored in your img.pro account. Studio keeps an index of them along with your site name, about text, links, collection titles and statements, captions, alt text and appearance choices. Before an upload, your browser reads the capture date, camera and lens from the file so Studio can sort your library. Studio never reads location data.
  • Your published versions. Each time you publish, Studio saves what your site shows. Studio keeps your last 20 published versions so you can restore one.
  • Messages visitors send you. When someone uses the contact form on your site, Studio keeps their name, email address, message and the page they sent it from, so you can read it in Studio. It is also emailed to you: to your account email, or to another address you choose once you confirm it from a link Studio sends there. Messages stay in your inbox until you ask us to delete them.
  • A one-way hash of visitors' IP addresses. Used only to limit how many messages can be sent, to keep spam down. For IPv6 the hash covers the network part of the address. Studio's database never stores the IP address itself, and the hashes are deleted within two days.
  • Your domain, if you connect one. If you connect a domain, Studio keeps the domain name and whether it is connected. Cloudflare issues its security certificate, and certificates appear in public certificate logs. After you remove a domain, Studio remembers for 90 days that it was yours, so no one else can take it over.
  • Your Studio+ status. A copy of what img.pro reports about your Studio+ plan: whether you have it, which price you chose, and when it renews or ends. Studio refreshes it when you open Studio+. Your payment details stay with img.pro.
  • Cookies on studio.img.pro. A sign-in cookie, plus a short-lived one while you sign in. Studio stores only a hash of the sign-in cookie. Your theme and a few view preferences stay in your browser.
  • How Studio is used, during the pilot. A record, per site, of a few things you do in Studio: when your site first publishes, where in Studio you add photos to collections or delete them, and why an upload failed. It never includes your photographs, the text you add, your email address, messages or anything about your visitors.

Messages sent through a photographer's site

The photographer whose site you write to decides what happens to your message. Studio stores and delivers it on their behalf, and uses it for nothing else. To ask about a message you sent, write to the photographer, or to studio@img.pro and we'll help.

What public sites do

The sites photographers publish with Studio have no analytics, set no cookies and load no third-party scripts. Photographs load from img.pro's image servers. A visitor shares personal information with Studio only by sending a message through a contact form.

Who helps us run Studio

These companies process data for Studio, only to provide the service:

  • img.pro for sign-in, image storage and billing for Studio+.
  • Cloudflare for hosting Studio and its database, and for connected domains and their certificates.
  • Amazon Web Services for sending contact messages and address confirmations by email.

We don't sell personal information and we don't show ads.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

Studio keeps your data while you use it. If you disconnect Studio in your img.pro account, img.pro deletes the images you added through Studio. Studio checks published sites regularly and takes your site offline once it notices, usually within a few days. Your text and settings stay, so signing in again brings them back.

To delete your Studio data, including contact messages, write to studio@img.pro from your account email. Technical logs that help us fix problems are kept for a short time and then deleted automatically. The pilot record is deleted when the pilot ends.

Reporting content

To report a site or photo that breaks Studio's Terms or infringes your rights, use img.pro/report or write to report@img.pro. Copyright notices go to dmca@img.pro.
